Children’s park /

The Children’s park is a public park located in the city center of Datong. Inside, one can find various types of worn out amusement equipment built at the beginning of 2000. Some of the attractions are completely broken and were left abandoned right in the middle of the park.

In general, this park appears as « old school » in term of leisure equipement (merry-go-round, bumper cars etc.) and all the fairground attractions are decrepit, and remain closed most of the time. For instance, there is a  rusty ferris wheel, which looks very unsafe but which still opens to the public during the summer.

The abandoned water rollercoaster

The most interesting abandoned facility in this park was the water rollercoaster, which has been abandoned for more than five years and which will never get fixed. It is full of broken jungle animals and also has a fake Chinese mountain, it is quite a fun place to spend time in.

Diverse abandoned items in the park

The park also has many smaller broken amusement elements, such as this rallye road or a dried out lake.

The bigger abandoned rollercoaster

The second most interesting broken equipment was the hudge rollercoaster in disrepair, which will never open again. According to the park guards, it might be demolished as soon as this year.

So to conclude, it is always interesting to go explore the broken amusement facilities in this public park, before they are demolished. I will end this report with these super creepy broken monkeys, wishing everyone a happy new year of the monkey,

  1. Salut !

🙂 Bonne exploration!
